My sense after watching these videos is that yes, the presence of police armed with riot gear is unacceptable, but the Occupation does itself no service with hair-trigger readiness to escalate a tense situation. Swearing & screaming do way more harm than good. Absolute silence and stillness in the face of weapons would have been far more effective, both practically and as political theater. As Bill McKibben said about the Tar Sands civil disobedience action: this is not for those who can’t control their passions. Calm down before you lose the moral high ground.
